Looking forward to the gig at Shropshire Wildlife Trust!
Thank you for the gig. You made putting on the event so easy with posters and advertising provided. Your performance was outstanding and I can not thank you enough. Hope to book you again in the future.
Can't thank you enough for making Saturday night so special. Everyone really enjoyed it, particularly Iain. I am sharing your acoustic Guns n Roses left right and centre to folks who hadn't heard of you before so they can all see how brilliant you all are!
Brilliant concert at Clifford Chambers thanks enjoyed every minute
What a fabulous evening at The Edge last weekend. You really are such a joy to watch and listen to (or should that have been the other way round?!!). We shall not leave it so long next time. Every possible success to you throughout 2016. xxx
So sorry we missed you this year - first year ever - the dates just didn't work out for us. However, won't repeat this in 2016 and we'll make sure we get your 2015 CD. Have a very happy Christmas all of you. Lots of love and best wishes ... Eileen and Manfred xxx
Another great performance at Kingstone Village Hall last night as usual. My friend Colette enjoyed it as well. Nice to see you all again.15331
Excellent gig at Kingstone Village hall last night thank you Whalebone. Shame no one danced naked on the table in the end but sre the Welsh cakes made up for the disappointment. Come back soon!
Loved your show last evening in Cleobury. Sarah said you had only done 5 cd's. What happened to the first one with only Steve and Charlotte? Or am I imagining it?
A very BIG thank you to you all, for last Saturdays fantastic gig,at our amazing venue at St.Georges church, Kidderminster. We really love it when you come to play for us.Looking forward to next time x We can't stop playing the new C.D!
Really enjoyed this evening at Bibury Village Hall earlier. Now appreciating your true musicianship via your CD's. Thank you Sarah, you have sparked my interest to pick up my fiddle again.
What a great night. Uplifting, fab musicians. Catch them if you can. You won't regret it !
Thanks again Char, Steve and Sarah for another brilliant evening in Breinton. Enjoyed by all - magical!
Fantastic.music heard you at Wenlock pottery in December looking forward to seeing you at Harmer Hill this Saturday. Ps, that's our car with the antler on.
Had a great time at parwich memorial last night. Hope the tour proceeds well!. Just wondered what gauge strings steve uses as I have great difficulty playing lead breaks on an acoustic or maybe I just have weak hands !
It was not only the first piece that was 'totally awesome' at last night's concert. It was a fantastic night - as good as any I have heard you play in the last 6 years!
Came to see you last night, with two seasoned fans. Loved the show and purchased a CD. Will be back to catch you later on in the year.
Found your music by accident! Was looking at CD Baby gallery of templates and wanted to see your site (which they featured) better... Googled you and really like your music! Following you now on FB and Twitter. Play on! :)
Thoroughly enjoyed your gig last night at Fownhope Village Hall, thank you so much for such an enjoyable evening. We were the rowdy ones at the back with the friends from Bogart's!
We came to see you at Feckenham, sat in the front and really enjoyed the music, banter and being hares! I think my son went to school with Sarah son/daughter at Oldbury Wells. Looking forward to seeing you later inthe year perhaps at Quatt. Good wishes Mo
Sadly, we are not able to welcome you again to our local village (Fownhope) in April but we are planning to be at Quatt village hall in September so shall not have to endure an entire year without seeing you play your wonderful music.
Wow, what a brilliant night! Really enjoyed your session at The Pludds on 29th March, wonderful to have such excellent music on our hill! Am still pinching myself to be sure that there is a band producing the very best rock tunes ever combined with fabulous Celtic folk, my 2 big musical loves. Thankyou so much, and looking forward to the next time....
Thanks so much for the brilliant concert tonight at Breinton Village Hall. Could not believe that we had such amazing professional musicians in our little village hall! Excellent music and entertainment enjoyed by all. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Hey Guys!! Eileen and I SO enjoyed your concert in Bishopswood last Saturday. We both thought it one of your very best - particularly the hauntingly beautiful "The Birds Are Still Singing" and, as always, 'Fairy-tale of New York' - and look forward to seeing you again some time in 2014. In the meantime, have a very happy Christmas and a productive and extremely successful New Year. Much love to all (including your roadie!) ... Eileen and Man
WONDERFUL EVENING AND AM NOW A FAN OF YOUR MUSIC. THOUGHT OF A BETTER COMMENT THAN I GAVE AT GOODRICH LAST NIGHT AT THE END YOUR YARN ABOUT THE HARE. HOW ABOUT "HARE TODAY GONE TO BURROW"
Seen you perform twice this year and twice been thrilled by your performance. If I carry on playing your Runes CD, which I picked up at the Eaton Constantine gig, I'll wear a hole in it ! "The birds are still singing" is a tear jerking masterpeice !
Harrtshill comunity centre.our first introduction to your wonderful music,we were spellbound, and we thought your light hearted little quips very entertaining.look forward to the next gig.23.11.2013
Thanks for a brilliant gig on Saturday evening in Eaton Constantine - lovely venue and such friendly, welcoming people there! The Runes CD is excellent ... even better than the last one, if that's possible. Must see if we can make it to Kempsford next time you play there!
Great 'introduction' to Whalebone In Kempsford on Friday, after missing the previous visit. At this rate you should need an overflow in the carpark next time!
A great evening of vibrant music played by truly accomplished musicians!
Thank you for a great evening in Kempsford. Saw you in Fairford about 2 years ago and came back for more tonight. Lovely people and lovely sound. I love Stairway to Heaven your way. How about adding a bazouki to your string instruments? Thank you, your make us feel good x
WOW, thank you for allowing us to hear your lovely music at the Arley community centre. Your latest CD will wing its way over to South Africa in the near future.
Thanks for an excellent gig at Shrewley last night guys, great to hear some of the new album stuff live. Thoroughly enjoyed by everyone I would think - looking forward to the EP
What a fantastic night we had at your gig at Shrewley Village Hall. Completely blew us away! and so much more than our expectations! Will definitely be coming to see you again telling everyone! Congratulations on being brilliant musicians!!
The 4 tracks for download are, as expected, lovely. Fairytale of New York is a nice version compared with Christy Moore's version and then The Pogues. Whilst playing the Peacock's Cry I looked up and my wife was asleep - what a lovely lullaby!! It's great to see and here good new songs as well as unique treatments of old favourites. Play on!!
Also, read article in Taylor "Wood & Steel" mag. Very nice. Great music. Love the work on the 8 string bari. I'll be looking for you in the US soon, I hope.
Great, soul stirring music! It makes me want to go grab my guitar. I just read about you guys in Taylor Guitar's Wood&Steel; Fall newsletter. Nice write up in the "Soundings" section. Keep up the good work! -Mike in Ohio
Attended session in Bishops Itchington last night and was blown away with your performance - amazing. Thank you so much, can't wait for your return. Well done to you all on what was a very hot evening.
Fabulous evening at St George's Kidderminster tonight 29th June. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to the next time.
Many thanks for a fantastic evening at Wenlock Pottery on 7th June, the music was fab and much enjoyed by all present. Thanks also to Mike and Sheleagh for a super venue and great food, it was all just perfect!
Hi Steve, Char and Sarah. Thanks for the great gig on Saturday at Oulton Village Hall. Everyone I spoke to afterwards really enjoyed it - even the "Hare Nightclub"!! Great music, great rapport and lovely people. Hope to see you again in Oulton. Many thanks again, Andy.
Thank you for the entertainment which I enjoyed while sitting in Jubilee park, Bewdley today, especially the song about the drunken hare :-)
Wow, an absolutely fantastic gig at Llanymynech last night, guys. As we said to Char and Sarah, we think it's the best gig of yours that we've ever been to! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Anne & Simon
please could you tell us if you used our pictures, and if so were are they on your webpage . hayley 11,aiden 8
Excellent evening at Shilton Village Hall last night, so good to have such wonderfull live music. Steve said Mark Knopfler was one of his heroes,Steves just as good as him!! Disapointed there is no personal info on the Bio like who has played with what bands and where your personal influences lie.
What a fantastic gig at Twyning Village Hall!! Filled with sound created by a band who quite obviously love what they do! Their enthusiasm and joy of playing together oozed out of them and into the audience who clearly sat spellbound, gratified to be able to share the experience unfolding in front of them. Warm witty interaction from Steve, Char and Sarah with no lack of input by a thoroughly enthralled audience. Brilliant!!
Great night of music at the Pludds village hall last night. very many thanks Mike
Just listened to the podcast from 'The Ash Tea Rooms' - great stuff. Are you going to be playing in the Worcester/Malvern/ Ledbury area anytime this year?
As usual a great night last night at Dinedor. Now I know you do requests next time I will ask you to to Three Fires (ring tone on my mobile) and The Gathering my favourites. Looking forward to the new album and seeing you in the New Year.
Hi all ... just wanted to say what a lovely evening you gave us all yesterday at Wenlock Pottery. The whole concert was delightful - as usual. And Steve, you probably couldn't be a coconut because you were too shy!!!! I wanted to shout that out but , having been labelled as 'trouble' before we had got our coats off, hesitated and then the moment was lost. I'll know better next time, if we bring the terrier! Thanks all once again .,. happy Christmas & we'll see you next year.
Morton say sat eve ... First time I've seen Whalebone ..and what a brilliant performance, The acoustics were fab ... Genuine traditional and very talented, giving a breath of fresh air to live music,Just wanted to say well done again ....and loved the 8 string baritone well what can one say other than perfectly played , All best to you in future performances and Hope to catch you again x Ang'e
Hi I would just like to thank you for coming to Rochford on Saturday night. It was so good to have such a professional band in our little village hall. It was a brilliant show, you are a very talented group and your enthusiasm was very evident. I am enjoying listening to the CD and hope we can get you back again one day, and I will make sure we have a room full. Thanks again
Hiya! Just wanted to say I came across you on the net and love your music and the whole energy behind what you do. Just beautiful and inspiring! Keep it up! Juanita, The Wild Song Woman xx
Thanks again for last night. You were brilliant and it was the best night we have had for a long time. Thanks also for making my job so easy and for being such nice people. Hope to see you soon. Regards Den.
Went to St Georges and the whole ambiance was excellent with the audience obviously enchanted. We've been to two previous gigs and this was probably the best, although the one at Habberley Hall in the early days when you played to an audience of just 10 was the one that originally got us hooked.
Wonderful time tonight at St George's Kidderminster. Big guitar sounded so beautiful! Thank you so much
Love the new look website. Steves new guitar sounded great at Stoke St M and so glad we made it as I ended up having an op on Friday! Hope to be well enough to see you at Wenlock.
After convincing the whole family to make the trip from Leicester to Clee Hill I asked my 10yr old son what he thought of the evening. "It was epic with a capital E" came the reply. Coming from a young fan of modern manufactured pop tunes, which is all about the lyrics and pre-recorded music, this was a shock. Both sons were transfixed by the skill of guitar and fiddle playing and so too was I. There is nothing to beat the sounds of live music when played well and this was no exception. I urge you to step out of your comfort zone/away from X factor TV shows for one night and try out a concert with the Whalebone crew. You will not be dissapointed. We're guaranteed to be back again for sure so thank you Whalebone for a great evening.
Hey folks...did you know Karine Polwart is appearing at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on 6th April???
Having only recently heard of 'Whalebone' when a concert was arranged in our village hall (and not been able to attend!) i researched the website to find a fantastic hidden treasure of pure instrumental music. After listening to the sample tracks on the web my wife bought all three albums for me for Christmas. The more i listen the more i am hooked to the quality of the vivacious, melancholic, traditional and comtemporary mix of tracks that are spell binding. For somone brought up on the folk -rock of the seventies with Fariport and Steeleye amonst others still being played as old favourites, Whalebone is fresh bright and new, and a true new favourite - EVERY TRACK IS A PURE JOY TO LISTEN TO - Thank-you and hope to see you live this year somewhere.
Great night at Church Preen tonight. A band that love to play. Thank you.
saw you last night, performing with Kaleidoscope. AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL!... just bought your album. thank you xx
enjoyed seeing you at moreton say simply brilliant . (11,11,11)
This has been a long time coming, but we would both like to thank you for making our wedding day (August 20th) so utterly unforgettable. Your music wove itself into our memories as we celebrated with our friends and family, and as the day came to a close and darkness fell, Sar's fiddle teased out the stars, whilst the twin guitars just asked people to sit a little closer, hold hands, maybe dance . . . . You made our day. You made our night. Thank you SO much. See you soon
Thanks for the great night last night at Wigmore on the Three Fires tour; you just get better and better.
Sorry folks ... I used the contact page rather than this one to say how much we enjoyed your wonderful playing last Saturday. Please don't tell me off, especially since I am an IT management consultant who obviously can't use a web site!!! Cheers Manfred
Whalbone are one of my favourite bands -- I have seen them live a fair few times at the Ludlow Food Festival and Spring Beer & Sausage Festival. Three Fires CD seems to be basically their latest live set as performed at the Ludlow spring event this year. Great acoustic guitar and fiddle music start to finish. Best listened to with a pint or two of Shropshire beer! If you know the area, sit back, close your eyes and think of the Mynd, Caer Caradoc,Wenlock Edge, the Wrekin, the Clees, the Stiperstones.and the other Shropshire Hills. Buy this CD!!!!
Thanks for a great nights entertainment at Harley village hall, the evening flew by and was so enjoyable we are looking forward to you returning as soon as possible .

a big thank you for an excellent evenings entertainment at Minsterworth Village Hall by three seriously talented and hard-working musicians
Hi Just watched your band in The Bell, Leominster - excellent, fantastic, enjoyed every note played.
Fantastic performance today at our friend's wedding. I had never heard of you before, but straight away became a fan! As a fellow musician I can really appreciate the skill and talent that you all have. The onstage chemistry between you was clear, and the execution of the performance was superb. If you ever get the opportunity to see Whalebone live, go for it, they are superb. I wish you all the very best for the future, and I hope that you come to Stafford soon!
Really enjoyed the performance at the Clun Green Man festival on Monday. Not only was the music really good and inspiring but it is so nice to see the performers so enjoying themselves. What's more, i could still talk to stall visitors as the volume was just right - so I went and bought the CDs so I can listen at home. Well done, keep up the good work.
saw these guys supporting spiers and boden, and to be honest before the gig we didn't expect much from them, but boy were we mistaken.they had a great rapport with the audience and played a great set(we were foot tapping like there was no tomorrow).my only regret was i didnt buy there cd's on the night and get them to autograph them.if u get the chance u must go see them u wont be dissapointed
Hi Have had an amazing workshop with you at Meole Brace School and hope to hear you play again
I have seen you at the Railwayman Arms many times when I used to live in Bridgnorth and its great that you are now doing a gig at Barlaston! Looking forward to it.
Just thought I'd let you know that the Rootsy Folky Live & Funky CD now has a review on CD Baby (well, someone had to do it). See you again somewhere in 2010
It's rare to buy a CD that's so jam packed full of wonderful melodic acoustic tunes. Some real craftsmanship going on here. I bought both albums from Ludlow Food Fest on the strength of excellent, tight performances, not been dissapointed with the purchases. Any plans to venture further afield in 2010. Merry Xmas and a very prosperous 2010
Hi I saw you a couple of times as a duet and then at Bishops Castle outside the Six Bells as a trio and thought you were fantastic. I bought both albums straight away and have been playing them ever since - FANTASTIC! Am coming to see you at Leominster at the Bell on 27th Oct
