Having only recently heard of 'Whalebone' when a concert was arranged in our village hall (and not been able to attend!) i researched the website to find a fantastic hidden treasure of pure instrumental music. After listening to the sample tracks on the web my wife bought all three albums for me for Christmas. The more i listen the more i am hooked to the quality of the vivacious, melancholic, traditional and comtemporary mix of tracks that are spell binding. For somone brought up on the folk -rock of the seventies with Fariport and Steeleye amonst others still being played as old favourites, Whalebone is fresh bright and new, and a true new favourite - EVERY TRACK IS A PURE JOY TO LISTEN TO - Thank-you and hope to see you live this year somewhere.

This has been a long time coming, but we would both like to thank you for making our wedding day (August 20th) so utterly unforgettable.

Your music wove itself into our memories as we celebrated with our friends and family, and as the day came to a close and darkness fell, Sar's fiddle teased out the stars, whilst the twin guitars just asked people to sit a little closer, hold hands, maybe dance . . . .

You made our day. You made our night. Thank you SO much. See you soon

Sorry folks ... I used the contact page rather than this one to say how much we enjoyed your wonderful playing last Saturday. Please don't tell me off, especially since I am an IT management consultant who obviously can't use a web site!!!

Cheers

Whalbone are one of my favourite bands -- I have seen them live a fair few times at the Ludlow Food Festival and Spring Beer & Sausage Festival. Three Fires CD seems to be basically their latest live set as performed at the Ludlow spring event this year. Great acoustic guitar and fiddle music start to finish. Best listened to with a pint or two of Shropshire beer! If you know the area, sit back, close your eyes and think of the Mynd, Caer Caradoc,Wenlock Edge, the Wrekin, the Clees, the Stiperstones.and the other Shropshire Hills. Buy this CD!!!!

Fantastic performance today at our friend's wedding. I had never heard of you before, but straight away became a fan!
As a fellow musician I can really appreciate the skill and talent that you all have. The onstage chemistry between you was clear, and the execution of the performance was superb.

If you ever get the opportunity to see Whalebone live, go for it, they are superb.

I wish you all the very best for the future, and I hope that you come to Stafford soon!

Really enjoyed the performance at the Clun Green Man festival on Monday. Not only was the music really good and inspiring but it is so nice to see the performers so enjoying themselves. What's more, i could still talk to stall visitors as the volume was just right - so I went and bought the CDs so I can listen at home.

Well done, keep up the good work.

It's rare to buy a CD that's so jam packed full of wonderful melodic acoustic tunes. Some real craftsmanship going on here. I bought both albums from Ludlow Food Fest on the strength of excellent, tight performances, not been dissapointed with the purchases.
Any plans to venture further afield in 2010.
Merry Xmas and a very prosperous 2010

Great Website, very professional and easy to use. Love the music, nice to work on the computer and have it in the background. Perhaps you can dedicate a song on 26th May for my birthday and 29th May for Grandma!
